About – Skin Camouflage

Harriet is a graduate member of the British Association of Skin Camouflage which is a charitable organisation whose objective is to alleviate the psychological, physical and social effects that an altered image can have on someone’s life by the simple application of specialised skin camouflage products.  www.skin-camouflage.net

The psychological impact of living with disfigurement cannot be underestimated, especially in today’s image-conscious society. Even when it is possible to conceal scars or blemishes under clothing, there will be times such as going on holiday, attending a special occasion, or for some; on a regular basis, when it is liberating not to have to cover up.

With the aid of specialist skin camouflage products and techniques, this is possible, giving you back your confidence and boosting your self-esteem.

What is Skin Camouflage?   In a nut-shell, it’s a range of skin-coloured products that when applied to the skin, camouflage a range of medical conditions and other blemishes. Camouflage products are highly-pigmented specialist products that mimic and blend in with skin colour – they are water resistant, can last for days before needing to be re-applied (although not recommended); topical medications can be applied before camouflage products, and cosmetic makeup can be applied over the top.skin cam with border

Who is it Suitable For?   Skin camouflage is suitable for both men and women of any age with any skin-type. Once applied it will conceal a wide range of skin imperfections including:

–  lost skin pigment (hypo-pigmentation) such as vitiligo  –  excessive skin pigment (hyper-pigmentation) such as melasma and birthmarks  –  congenital malformations such as Port Wine Stains  – scars and burn scars  –  tattoos  –  skin conditions such as rosacea, thread veins, psoriasis and much more.

Camouflage a Condition and “Unmask” Yourself…   Every individual is different, just like their need for camouflage.  If you, or somebody you know has a condition that could be helped with the application of skin camouflage products, then contact Harriet at info@harrietfranklin.co.uk or use the form on the contact page.
